Former rep, Adam Ali, the brainchild of Lautoka ex- players reunion says it’s a crying shame on LCC for caving into Fiji Football Association's request to host the Inter District Championship and thwart their event scheduled for October 14th.

The New Zealander has strongly condemned the termination.

"We were issued the permit in March", Adam said. "We payed $1150 fee for the use of the park, this is even before FFA decided to change the IDC venue to Lautoka”.

Adam said he tried reaching out to LCC upon learning IDC venue change but when he hit the cul-de-sac, he sought legal advice.

“Our lawyer in a small statement was informed the park is unavailable as it will be used for national team”.

“There were no other bookings when we made the application and now because of the IDC move to Lautoka our reunion permit was pulled.

“It all comes down to bureaucracy and the fact FFA just wanted to disrupt our reunion, that is what it comes down too”.

Adam told Sportsone that a lot of work had been put in for the reunion and former players from around the globe are looking forward to meeting teammates and former players.

“It’s a huge undertaking, all the logistics are in place and here LCC and FFA pull a fast one.

“The LCC failed to prioritize our event”.

Adam also argues the rationale behind the 1977 national team’s recognition, one he feels should have been done year’s on.

"It took all this years for FFA to recognize the legends of (1977 ) team.

"It should have happened years ago”, he said from Auckland, New Zealand.

Adam also took a swipe at Lautoka Football Association for not supporting their reunion, added the reunion will go ahead as planned regardless of the situation.
