Footballere's VWC try-outFootballere's VWC try-outFLESH Academy has identified five Fijian footballers who could tryout with the Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise Vancouver Whitecaps.

FA, coach and former Vancouver Whitecaps star, Ivor Evans, a leading scout, said the impressive performance of the five players during the Battle of the Giants tournament in Fiji have them selected in a one-off opportunity of their lifetime.

Nadi duo, Ilimotama Jese and William Valentine, Rewa’s Tevita Waranaivalu, Misaele Draunibaka and Ba’s Kishan Sami were named by the visiting FA scouts to Fiji.

“The five turned heads during the BOG. These players were singled by FA agents following their impressive display of football”, said Ivor.

“And with the right training and guidance these five will fit in with any professional overseas clubs, including the Vancouver Whitecaps”.

Ivor said the VWC could give the players a tryout, added it all depends on individual performance.

“I can always talk to Bobby Lenarduzzi, the President and the CEO of the Vancouver Whitecaps to give these players a tryout but the question is, interest and the commitment.

“Individuals have to impress the coaching staff for a professional career. We’re talking about the Vancouver Whitecaps and the MLS (Major League Soccer)”.

The Vancouver Whitecaps, on Ivor's behest  gave the former Ba and Fiji team defender, Alvin Singh a tryout in 2011, Singh impressed during the two-day tryout but abandoned it to return to Fiji.

Ivor said he was disappointed as Singh had let him down.

"Alvin could’ve earned a whopping two to three hundred thousand dollars a season, easy, he would’ve been the highest paid Fijian footballer today, he lucked out”.

The aim of the Flesh Academy is to help Fijian footballers seek a higher standard of footballing career based on talent and skills.
