Tanoa FC retain NAFSA/CAN-AMTanoa FC retain NAFSA/CAN-AMTANOA FC retained the North American Fijian Soccer Association/ CAN- AM crown following a 6-0 demolition of South Bay in Everett, Washington yesterday.

 

Milad Rahamti ran a goal scoring clinic during the grand finale.

 

He scored a hat-trick before Rizal Janif pounced in the fourth goal at the stroke of halftime.

Johnathon Jo and Abby capped off the goal scoring spree in the second half for a 6-0 win in the 40th year version of the NAFSA/ CAN-AM tournament.

South Bay suffered its worst defeat as in many years on home soil.

Tanoa FC manager Praveen Adrakar heaped lavish praises on his team for winning the back to back championship.

Adrakar said his youngsters gelled in well with season veterans.

"I'm immensely proud of this team because they played with a lot determination and defended the title with all the might", Adrakar told Sportsone.

"You could actually feel in all of our training sessions, that there was something about the bunch.

"You could feel an unbelievable hunger for victory, both on the training pitch and during matches, so it's well-deserved".

Adrakar said the fact that the young players helped the veterans win the tournament makes it an historic achievement.

"It's unique in Tanoa's history, it's outstanding".

A huge celebration is in the works, Adrakar added.
