The SAFC observed silence prior to their match against Langley United today at the Noel Booth Park.

“Our first game without Severn Chand. A game that Shevy would have been cheering on and on about. Hardnosed, no quitting and energetic victory over Langley United”.

“Shevy, this was for you”, a club Facebook message said.

Tributes for the former footballer have been pouring in, starting with the head coach Brock Fraser.

“Shevy was not only a coach’s dream, but a teammates dream teammate”.

“He was the type of guy whenever you needed him for whatever reason he’d drop his world and come to have your back. He is an example for every player within our club to live by. He was pure gold. He was family.”

Teammate Matthew Killick said “We got to train hard this upcoming week(s) and make shevy proud, I love everyone on this team and can see the potential. It all starts at practice, this whole season is dedicated to Shevy, let us go make our angel proud”.

The SAFC displayed Shevy's number 16 jersey during a team-photo-shoot and has dedicated this season and every game forward in his memory.

“Forever Vuvale”.
