A fleeting scare, but they won it 22-21 on a knuckle try from Allasio Naduva to book a semifinal date with South Africa.

New Zealand set the tone early with Sam Dickson scoring first before Tim Mikkelson made it 14-12 at the half time break.

Josua Vakurunabili scored Fiji’s first try and Aminiasi Tuimaba scored his double.

Vilimoni Koroi ran through Fiji defence outpacing Jerry Tuiwai for the try.

Coach Gareth Baber said the boys were excellent, they did what was required of them.

“We doing everything right, you can’t stop working you make sure you put it on the field”.

Baber called the fans to keeping believing in them.

“We trying to make this a top team for the competition”.

Fiji takes on South Africa in the cup semifinal match at 3.08 pm.
