AFTER a 14-year absence, Javid Khan makes his return to Team Canada for the FANCA 2026.
The 36-year-old brings with him a wealth of experience that could prove invaluable to the young team.
Khan represented Canada in 2010-2012 editions, the team finished second both times.
The losses, he said, stayed with him all these years, and despite winning major championships over the years, FANCA is one tournament he would love to win for Canada.
“I still think about both FANCA final losses, they serve as memories even though I have won higher-level competitions and individual accolades. I feel like winning FANCA would take care of unfinished business.”
For Khan, his return is more than simply pulling on the Team Canada jersey again, it is an opportunity to finish what he started 14 years ago finally.
“This tournament means more to me now compared to when I was young, a podium finish would be a fitting tribute to my young family, young me was about winning, it is about contribution to the religious tournament.”
The 2026 FANCA Nations World Cup is scheduled for August 23–30, 2026, in Nadi, Fiji.
It coincides with the Fiji Muslim League’s 100th anniversary celebrations. Matches are scheduled at King Charles Park, with netball and volleyball at Nadi Muslim College.
