Theaward is presented annually to the athlete, who transcended the year in both athletic performance and character.

Krishna helped his side earn a pair of championships including the 2014 League and the Knockout.

"Krishna accumulated the most votes", said Ronald Chaudhary, Sportsone's Soccer Analyst and head of the Sportsone Sports Personality of the Year panel.

"Krishna has established himself as a heads-ups athlete and has certainly gained the respect of his teammates and the public".

The 25-year-old has made the first eleven for Tanoa FC in the last two seasons, earning him the marquee status.

"I can't believe I have won the Sportsone Sports Personality of the Year Award", said Krishna with a smirk.

"I would like to thank Sportsone and the very people who voted me.The award means a lot".

The former Nadi districtsensation said the other threenominees deserve a special mention.

Krishna out voted teammates, Ryan Lal and Pawan Singh and Flagstaff FC defender Alvin Naidu.

Hebecomes the fifth Tanoan to win Sportsone's prestigious honors, others to have won are brothers Rylan and Dainen Sangha, Jas Singh and Javid Khan.

Last year's winner was Burnaby Lighthouse rugby clubs' Josefa Dolesau.
