Sportsone has been reliably informed that premier team assistant coach Riaz Ali has been named team Canada’s head coach.

Ali and former head coach Asif Ismail, who didn't seek reelection led the unsuccessful 2014 FANCA Muslim World Cup campaign at Ratu Cakabou Park.

Ali will be assisted by Shaheed Sahib and Mohammed Janif (Stopper).

Veteran Nadi Masters forward Mohammed Faizal will be in charge of the Masters 35s team, while Bobby Izaz Mohammed and Amzad Sahib have been named Veteran 42s coaches.

Faizal, who made his FANCA debut for the back to back championship winning Canada 42s side during the last tournament out-voted two notable former officials.

Izaz and Amzad will try to emulate the already double championship they have to their name by wining it for the record third time.

The source says the naming came on the back of expression of interest, shortlist and votes.

The FANCA Muslim World Cup soccer will be held in Nadi, Fiji.
