Fiji vs South AfricaFiji vs South AfricaHistory will not be changed and there will be no back to back victory for Fiji in the North American leg of the 2015/2016 HSBC Sevens World Series.

South Africa bamboozled Fiji 31-19 in the cup semifinal moments ago.

Captain Osea Kolinisauís mis-pass and referee Mike Adamsonís mis-judged call for a South African knock-on resulted in two quick tries for Justin Geduld, the latter under the sticks and converted for South Africa to lead 12-0.

Fiji equaled the tally through tries to Masivesi Dakuwaqa and Kitione Taliga. The teams rested tied 12-12 at half time.

Ruhan Nel put South Africa back into the lead with a converted try in the first minute of the second half.

Taliga then showed some individual brilliance to outpace the South African defense, touch-down underneath the woodwork and level the scores once again.

Back paddling throughout the entire match, the Fiji 7s side gave up the fight in the last two minutes allowing South Africa to squeeze in two unanswered tries.

Replacement Cecil Africa crossed over before this seasonís leading try scorer Seabelo Senatla delivered the final blow.

Fiji now meets Australia in the third-place playoff, a repeat of last weekendís Las Vegas 7s final with no silverware at stake this time around.

Australia lost 19-28 to arch rivals New Zealand in the second cup semifinal. Fiji must win to maintain its lead atop the HSBC Sevens World Series standings.
