Tuwai scores big in Vancouver

Fiji captain Jerry Tuwai: HSBCFiji captain Jerry Tuwai: HSBCFIJI 7s captain Jerry Tuwai has scored big among the Vancouverites ahead of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series Vancouver Sevens.


The 'Little big man', has topped S1 Media, a popular Canadian online sports website's public opinion poll.

70 percent of passionate sevens fans said Tuwai is arguably Fiji's best player and the game changer.

500 Fijians who were part of the poll conducted on Tuesday, said Tuwai is the man who could spring in surprises had the team been trailing or when the championship game was on line.

He outvoted Olympic Gold Medal winner, Vatemo Ravouvou and Kalione Nasoko, who shared 25 percent votes.

The 5 percent said they take deep pride in supporting other players, Tuwai, though is their man who is both mesmeric and thrilling.

Fiji lost to USA Eagles 19-7 in the cup-semifinal of the USA Sevens but won the Bronze medal by beating South Africa 26-22.

Fiji is pooled with Kenya, France and Spain for the Vancouver Sevens.
