Tanoa FC win Gurdwara CupTanoa FC win Gurdwara CupTANOA FC has emphatically stamped its mark in the Gurdwara soccer tournament by winning the $2000 prize money at the weekend.

And out of good heart, the team donated half of its winning purse to Vancouver Gurdwara, the hosts of the weekend long tournament.

Manager, Praveen Adrakar said the decision to donate $1000 was to thank the very organization for their cordial reception during the meet.

Rylan Sangha scored the winner against Temple United in the second over-time after both teams played to a stalemate during the regulation time.

Rylan neatly tucked in after he was well setup by Daniel.

The Gurdwara soccer tournament drew top Indo Premier teams that showcased their best imports and rated Sikh footballers.

Adrakar said he was ecstatic about winning the Gurdwara soccer tournament, a first for a Fijian football team in the 40 years’ (1980- 2018) running of organized football.

“The players played exceptionally well. The win is one of many more victories to come for the TFC”.

Adrakar said the team never regretted leaving the Fijian Soccer League of Greater Vancouver at the start of the 2018 season for the goodness of the TFC organization and the players.

“We made the best call not to be part of FSLGV. We are playing competitive football that was amiss in the FSLGV.

“Our players are enjoying the standard in the leaps and bounds.

“The weekend tournament was well organized, had quality teams and the prize purse couldn’t have been any better”, he said.

Tanoa FC will enter the Haji Memorial tournament next month.
