An array of Fiji’s best footballers will make up the core of Fiji Invitational soccer side for the Fiji Day Celebrations tournament in July.
Fiji Day Celebrations sports coordinator Ronald Chaudhary confirmed to Sports1 Tuesday.
“This year we’ve Fiji Invitational side, made up of players from top districts in Fiji, who will be a part the tour,” said Chaudhary.
“The team is made up of current national team and district players”.
Chaudhary said former national team skipper Abdul Mannan is heading the group.
"Mannan is working the proposed tour. He has put together a formidable side for the Fiji Day Celebrations”.
He said former Rewa and national team player Patrick Wise will lend Mannan help on the tour.
“Fijians on the lower mainland will get the opportunity to bask in Fiji’s best players up-close in action during their 10 day tour”.
Fiji Invitational side will feature in the “Battle Of The Titans” tournament on July 14th at Langley Event Center grounds.
Top Fiji side Ba participated in the tournament last year.
The side was a huge fan favourite.
Fiji Invitational side will also play top B.C., premier clubs while on tour.
The Fiji Day Celebrations (FDC) tournament is held annually in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada and is organized by the Bible Fellowship Foursquare Church.
