Canadian duo help South Bay double title

Canadian midfield sensation Javid Khan starred for South Bay yesterday in California.

Sparkling Canadian midfielder Javid Khan helped South Bay oust East Bay 1-0 on a penalty to win the Fiji Festival Championship title in California on Sunday.

Khan put in a champagne performance to inspire his side the grand finale finish in the 88 th minute of the second half.

He buried in a cool spot kick that handed South Bay the back-to-back title.

South Bay mentor, President Narandra Narayan was ecstatic about his sides win and praised the Canadians on his team for their victory.

“The Canadian players stood out and helped us retain the title. They played their hearts out,” Narayan said.

He said Javid Khan and Sagar Swamy made all the difference; they were the amber flakes of the tournament.

Khan played through a nagging hamstring injury and grabbed his side’s man of the match award.

“Javid (Khan) was at his best through out the tournament. He was a show to watch, an awesome player.

The Tanoa F.C, maestro was peerless with his deft skills.

The two Canadians performance oozed class as they orchestrated the winner’s domination in the tournament.

“Sagar (Swamy’s) aplomb defensive play averted East Bay movement”.
