Suva forward Sairusi Nalaubu FBSuva forward Sairusi Nalaubu FBA FORMER Fijian national team footballer believes Suva forward Sairusi Nalaubu deserves a try-out in the A League.

And the USA based Naveen Kumar says former Wellington Phoenix standout and the ATK Mohun Bagan star Roy Krishna is the best person to make it happen.

Kumar who has been closely following Fijian football ranks the Suva forward high in the country and believes he can be the country's next professional footballer overseas.

“Nalaubu has the passion for the sport, he is young and has the knack of scoring goals", he said.

“He has that great forwards’ eye, ball and goal coordination and with quality coaching he will only get better”.

The double district, Lautoka, Nadi and national defender of the 90s -2000, said, what Nalaubu is to Suva, Roy Krishna was to Labasa when he broke into the sport.

“Nalaubu is much like Roy, who scores on even half chance and that is a rare quality in a forward”, said Kumar.

Kumar said Krishna waited for his moment in time, and when the opportunity came in 2008, he joined Waitakere United where he spent 6 years.

He later joined Auckland City and then Wellington Phoenix of the A League, now playing for the ATK Mohun Bagan of the Indian Super League.

“Roy could also be Nalaubu’s agent. He could work his contact in New Zealand and Australia and make it all happen. Nalaubu will not disappoint”.

Nalaubu was the 2020 Vodafone Premier League and Fiji FACT Golden Boot Award winner. His stellar performance had him get called in the national team.
