GROWING up in Fiji, USA 7s player Jerome Nale always dreamed of playing for Fiji men’s 7s team.
But that dream was shelved when he migrated to the United States of America with his family.
“Growing up I always dreamed about playing for Fiji”, said Nale, 21, who is the grandson of former Fiji 7s captain and coach Aliposo Waqailiti.
“It is the very dream for all-young rugby players in Fiji.
“My family migrated to the USA and now I represent my country”.
USA head coach Mike Friday included the Santa Rosa Rugby Club halfback and former Marist Brothers High School 400 meters and 4x400 relay sprinter in the USA Eagles team for the Canada Sevens.
Friday praised Nale for his work ethics as a debutant.
“Young and upcoming player, who will grow with the game”, he said.
Nale said playing for USA is an absolute honour.
“I’m enjoying playing with the team”.
Nale plays club rugby with the Santa Rosa Club alongside former Fiji 7s captain Osea Kolinisau.
