THERE are numerous players out there in the football world who you can’t help but have feelings of love and hate towards.
There are those who are loved for skills, others for athleticism and camaraderie.
Hated are those known to be ruthless scorers, rugged defenders and tough net-minders who are hard to beat.
But if you’re Fiji U20 goalkeeper, Aydin Mustahib, his love, hate relationship with teammate Gulam Razool is at another level.
Vivacious so to speak.
Razool being cute, Aydin finds it annoying that he doesn’t get to cuddle his teammate, a first in the sport of football.
And ahead of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina, Aydin and the rest of the players were profiled with Aydin expressing his feelings about Razool, is all ‘buddy, buddy’, if you will and no more.
Well again, it is said that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
“He is very cute and doesn’t let me cuddle him”, said Aydin.
Football hasn’t been about cute and cuddles but a beautiful game and competitiveness.
The duo, along with the team must step in and step up.
Break that sweat to win games.
Anything less will leave the fans annoyed.
No cuddles but cursing as it has become fans' way of venting displeasure at every national team’s failures.
Fiji plays Slovakia in its opening game of the U-20 World Cup, followed by USA and Ecuador.
