Dan Carter scored a try but could not prevent his French club losing at home to Glasgow Warriors in the European Champions Cup.
Glasgow upset Racing 92 in Paris, winning 23-14 despite a late try to Carter, who also kicked two conversions on Sunday (NZ Time).
Carter's team, which included fellow ex-All Blacks Joe Rococoko and Casey Laulala and former Blues back Anthony Tuitavake, were well beaten by Gregor Townsend's Glasgow.
In other matches, Carter's former Crusaders and All Blacks team-mate Aaron Mauger saw his Leicester Tigers team crash to a record 38-0 loss to Munster in Limerick.
Mauger, Leicester's head coach, saw a former Canterbury and Crusaders protege Tyler Bleyendaal kick 18 points for Munster.
Ireland captain Rory Best - fresh from leading his nation to an historic first win over the All Blacks - skippered Ulster to an exciting 39-32 win over French club Clermont Auvergne.
