"It's always a great feeling to win any major championship", Ali said after the final match. "Suva has amazing bunch who thrive on respect more than anything else".

The giant of a striker had won Nadi the 2014 IDC against Suva when had pounced in a double for the win.

"I have won 2006 and 2014 IDC with Nadi but honestly winning it for Suva marks a special moment in my football career.

"I must thank my teammates and the management for giving me an opportunity to drape in the all White' uniform. This is definitely Suva's victory to cherish", Ali said.

Ba looked dangerously good at times but their final attempt were either thwarted by a sound Suva defense play or their final touches were not good.

Suva ended its 6 year winless drought; the district had last won the IDC in 2010.
