FANCA' FIX' claimFANCA' FIX' claimTeam Fiji FANCA head coach has finally broke his silence about the alleged match fix against Canada during the semi-final match of the FANCA tournament.

Speaking to Sportsone, Javid Ahamed said sources close to him say there is every reason to believe senior players mongered a financial gain and sold the game.

He said he is also well informed that money exchanged hands after which Canada pulped Fiji 4-0 to advance for the finals.

“Our suspicion was only backed up by the fact that the players were in possession of hard cash the night before their all important game against Canada”, he said.

“We still are trying to determine the central individuals and players who worked the fix.

“Fiji was made up district representatives, these were proven players and the match certainly raised the suspicion as a handful of players quit on giving their all during the match”.

Javid said while there's every reason to believe the match fixing, it's always hard to proof it.

He added the Canada - USA game also had the hallmark of yet another fix.

“The 8-1 score helped Canada qualify for semi- final. The awkward truth is people know what happened leading up to Canada’s championship win in Fiji. It’s just people are keeping it to heart”.

Attempts to get comments from FANCA president Mohammed Yusuf were unsuccessful as his mobile appeared switched- off.
