THE beautiful game of football is a team sport and not about an individual player.
It has never been, said former Fiji national footballer Naveen Kumar.
The Palo Alto Masters midfielder said oftentimes a single player take praise for a team’s success, but with him it’s all about the team's effort.
“It’s never about a single footballer, the sport has always been about the team”, said Kumar.
"Together every one achieves more, and that is the beauty of football."
Kumar, who relocated to the US after a successful football career in Fiji and New Zealand, is in a company of footballers who are in Surrey for the NAFSA-CANAM tournament.
The team has won every single tournament in California in 2022,and is optimistic about winning the tournament.
"Our success rides on the shoulders of team."
“We will give our all, play for one another and as a team.
“We will dedicate the tournament to late, Balwant Singh Kang (Ballo) and Safirun Begg."
