Fiji7s coach Ben Ryan with Masivesi DakuwaqaFiji7s coach Ben Ryan with Masivesi DakuwaqaA Surrey rugby fan has called on the locals to share the joy of Fiji 7s Olympic gold victory by organizing a celebration.

Andrew Singh says the celebrations would have been a perfect one last week as Fiji's attorney general Aiyaz Saiyad Khaiyum was in Vancouver on an unofficial visit.

Singh said the former countrymen living on the lower-mainland formed what was later confirmed by VANCITY BUSS to be the biggest backdrop of raucous fans during this yearís HSBC Vancouver Sevens and to take a pass following the historic gold medal win in Rio calls for a loyalty check.

"With the 7s gold and attorney general, Aiyaz Saiyad Qaiyum's visit to Vancouver, the fans couldn't have asked for a better get- together to show their adulation for the gold medal winning† Olympians and a reception for Mr Aiyaz Saiyad Qaiyum to remember", he said.

"Fijians in other countries have made their feelings known by showing their patriotism and love for the country in the way of a parade.

"It was lower- mainlanderís time to step up and show their appreciation in the presence of attorney general Mr Aiyaz Saiyad Khaiyum".

Singh said what has befallen Fiji is history in the making for every Fijians to celebrate.

He said Fijians have turned up in a mass celebrate in Nadi, Suva and Labasa and in other countries. It is about time the locals carry the noble banner blue and go euphoric.

"The huge turnout and the fact the recognition by the government and the private sector is being praised world over", said Singh.

He feels 'more of it is always less' in terms of praise for out-going coach Ben Ryan, his technical staff together with the 13 players who have put back the smiles on all Fijians following devastation caused by Tropical Cyclone Winston in February of this year.

Singh added Fijians could still show their love and appreciation to the 7s team as itís never too late.
