Waqa ready to root for Fiji

FIJI Airways men’s 7s team can count on Fijian fans for support during the Canada Sevens.

And with the counting days, the excitement is palpable across the lower mainland.

Steven Waqa says there’s just no substitute when it comes to sevens rugby and Fiji.

“Fiji first, that’s where it all started.

“We are Canadian Fijians, we believe.”

The Fiji men’s 7s team hasn’t won a circuit in the last 17 tournaments but fans have their former countrymen’s back to form a big backdrop at BC. Place Stadium in Vancouver.

“17 tournament losses but it just takes one circuit win for fans to jump on the wagon.”

“The drought ends in the Winter season, Vancouver is the lucky charm.

“Let’s all believe,” added the Richmond resident.

Waqa encourages lower mainlanders to drape in their Fijian attires and bring along the lungs, Fiji will need it.
