NCL clinches sponsorship deal

Funding boost for local crickertersThe National Cricket League has landed a huge sponsorship deal worth thousands of dollars.

And while the speculation was rife last week that NCL was set to sign a major deal, Secretary Rajnesh Vikram admitted to Sportsone that they have the cooperate backing.

He said the deal will be officially announced in the coming weeks, but it is understood the sponsorship will run for years, starting this summer.

“I can tell you that we have secured a substantial amount”, he said. “We will roll out actual amount soon”.

“The chunk of the money will be used for the prize-purse and the development of cricket”.

Vikram said the NCL is much focused organization following the allegations that were leveled against the former league president Ravi Lal and the defunct body.

“As NCL our job is to serve our membership with earnestness. We must be profession in our dealings if we are to garner the respect of the affiliates, fans and foes.

“We are constantly reminded of the former league and those many other associations who seem to ignore its members and enforce a dictatorship rule of law”.

Vikram says the sponsorship deal is timely as they are preparing their footing in the new cricket league.
