What did was self belief and hard work, and that success befell him.

“One does not have to be academically qualified to be smart,” he said.

And the Fiji born Australian man’s mantra has him forge a successful life and a thriving business.

Today, Mohiz runs a multimillion dollar trucking business under MMM Brothers, that provides agility to the transportation industry, with a workforce of about 100 people in the states of Sydney and Brisbane.

But for the Valley Road, Nadroga born, success was not all served in a salad bowl.

“I believed in hard work, it is what got me where I’m today.”

“I did go to school for a day in Sydney, school fees, coupled with other things turned me off.”

McDONALDS/FIRST REAL JOB

Mohiz being the oldest of the three siblings, joined the workforce in 2001, at the tender age of 14.

“I had to take a lead, for the young ones to look up to.”

He put in a good 2 years at the fast food restaurant, flipping from burgers to being a general help.

The work he said, was an experience, lessons learnt as he had better plans ahead.

EARLY LIFE

Mohiz juggled young life between Valley Road, where his father is from, and has maternal links to Mulo Mulo, Nadi.

He has vivid memories of both the places, river, lush valley and the mountainous backdrops that he said made for a scenic living.

“Both sets of grandparents and families raised me, I was the oldest and charged up, living a child life, fond memories of both sides of the family.”

BUSINESS INFLUENCES

Mohiz received tips with hands-on training on the trucking industry from his uncles, who were trade experts and that set him up broden the transportation horizon.

“Sound advice and a good ear they say takes you a long way, I heeded to it, started with a small van, working my way in the delivery sector, I found a footing and got myself a next vehicle.”

By 2003, he learnt the trick of the trade that he decided on to a bigger scheme of things, the same year started his business.

“Got a contract with the Daily Telegraph, delivering newspapers.”

“It set a good platform, there was no looking back.

“I always wanted to do it on my own. When opportunities presented I took it with open arms, it was not easy but they say faith moves mountains.”

MOTHER’S BLESSINGS

Mohiz owes his mother a debt of gratitude, added that she prayed long and hard for his success.

“For us brothers our mother prayed at will, endless, and we owe it to her for our success.”

“Not that our father didn’t, he did it in silence, he’s our backbone.

“He still tells us what time of the day it is.”

MMM BROTHERS

The MMM Brothers have branched out in Brisbane, with brothers’ Mozil and Mozim Hussein running the business.

The Sydney outfit employs over 30 people, while the Brisbane branch employs just as many.

POWER OF PRAYERS

Mohiz says he isn’t anywhere close to being pious, but makes sure he doesn't skip a prayer.

"I find solace in prayers."

At the height of Covid 19, when all ban was placed on gatherings, including attending Mosques, he built a Mosque at his property and a sizable faithful came to pray.

Every Friday during the(Juma) prayers, he provides food to the congregation.

And besides, has other charities to go with his donations.

PROPERTIES

Mohiz has over a dozen properties between Fiji and Australia, he strongly believes in the real state and agriculture.

“I have big plans, God willing it will come to fruition.”

FAMILY

He lives with his parents, wife Kristeen Fatima Hussain and two daughters.

“Family first, my wife, two daughters and my parents are my world.”

Success, Mohiz believes, comes to those who believe in themselves and serve God.
