Fiji beats Samao, loses to Argentina

Argintina players celebrate after 26-14 win over FijiFiji left it late to beat Samao 19-12 in its second game of the HSBC Vancouver Sevens at the BC Place Stadium in Vancouver.

Samoa's winger Samoa Toloa though, drew first blood with his try, Fiji pulled it back through captain Osea Kolinisau.

The two team were locked at 5-5 at the break.

Kalioni Nasoko then powered his way to score in the second half, Vatemo Ravouvou converted to give Fiji a 12-5 lead.

The lead was cut short as Tila Mealoi scored, he converted his own try, both teams drew level at 12-12.

Setareki Bituniyata extended Fiji's lead to 19-12.

And it was Waisea Nacuqu who put his body on line to avert the likelihood a Samoa try.

Fiji lost its last pool game to a determined Argentina 26-24.

Fiji will meet Australia in the Cup Quarters at 12:14pm.
