Sabeto FC forward Sahil Khan was named S1 Footballer of the YearFOOTBALLER Mohammed Sahil Khan has been named the Sportsone Footballer of the Year.

The award is given out annually to the athlete whose performance in the year most embodies the spirit of sportsmanship, performance and achievement.

The Sabeto mainstay has been a consistent performer, who helped the team win the 2024 Premier League Championship.

He was part of Fiji Nations and the Pacific Cup teams that participated in Richmond, BC, and in Lautoka, Fiji.

Sahil possesses a combination of technical, speed and mental traits.

The 21-year old is Fijian League’s budding star and considered in many quarters as the face of Fijian football on the lower-mainland.

Sahil was in the Canada FANCA team that lost the grand final 2-0 against New Zealand.

The highlight of the tournament was Canada beating Fiji 7-6 in a semifinal shootout.

Sahil wrapped up the year by representing the USA All Stars team at the Pacific Community Cup tournament in Fiji.

The team lost 2-0 to NZFFI Manukau All Stars in the semifinal.

As a footballer he continues to grow in the game and has a bright future in the sport.

Rylan Sangha and Issiah Sahib were the other footballers who missed out on the selection.

The winner for the accolade was chosen by a panel of experts, including coaches, players, administrators and journalists.
