Edmonton Rangers win Dulari Cup

EDMONTON RANGERS won the Dulari Cup with a 3-0 victory against Sabeto FC at the Newton Athletic Park.

Forward Abe Dukuly bamboozled past Vancouver champions to score a hat trick in the second half to give the Albertans the 40th edition of the championship.

With the New Zealand-based Samuela Kautoga, James Hoyte and former Whitecaps academy forward Adian Fong leading the team, the Edmonton Rangers upped the tempo of the game in the second half.

Head coach Ashik Ali holds unity and confidence for winning the Dulari Cup, a first away victory in Surrey, British Columbia.

“The championship is for the players, their families and Edmontonians,” he said.

“We played for one another and as a team.

“We are one proud football family. I’m happy with the win, a first of many to come.”

Sabeto FC was gracious in defeat.

The team had given its all against an experienced team, which played with verve and grit.

Sabeto had a few good sitters but failed to score.

Dulari Cup organizers have promised a bigger and better tournament next year.

Edmonton Rangers won $5000 prize money.
