FIVE Sabeto FC players were special guests at teammate Issiah Sahib’s family home in Lautoka, where they were treated to an extravagant dinner.
Wasim Khan, Edris Najm, Yassin Essa,Zayan Khan, and Shahil Khan enjoyed the evening in warm company, winding down after their participation in the FANCA ICC tournament.
The highlight of the night was a traditional Fijian lovo—an underground feast—served alongside a spread of local delicacies. The gathering was rounded off with kava, the iconic Fijian drink, making the occasion truly memorable.
Wasim, Idris, Essa, and Shahil represented Nadi, who bowed out after a narrow 4-3 loss to Ba in the cup quarterfinal, while Issiah turned out for Lautoka.
Wasim Khan said the teammates appreciated the cultural experience.
“Loved it—can’t beat the hospitality,” he said.
The Sabeto five return to Vancouver tomorrow to prepare for the North American Fijian Soccer Association Tournament, scheduled for September in Surrey, Canada.
