Canada Fijian U16 Draw Back-to-Back

CANADA All Stars U16 showed grit and character on Day 2 of the Pacific Cup, coming from behind to earn a hard-fought 1–1 draw with the AUFFI All Stars U16.

After conceding early, the young Canadians settled into the match and gradually found their rhythm, growing stronger as the contest progressed.

The equaliser arrived in the 33rd minute courtesy of substitute Ziyaan Aiyaz, who made an immediate impact off the bench.

Aiyaz executed a sharp turn inside the box before drilling a composed low shot beyond the goalkeeper to bring Canada level.

Co-coach Neil Adrakar said the intense heat affected both teams but applauded his players for pushing through challenging conditions.

“Players on both teams struggled,” Adrakar said. “But the boys showed real character.”

Looking ahead, he said the group remains positive as they prepare for tomorrow’s clash against Fiji U16.

“The mood is good. We do have some injury concerns, but the players are upbeat and ready to give their all,” he added.

Canada pressed hard for a late winner in the final stages, but the match concluded with both sides sharing the points after a determined and physical battle.

The result follows Canada’s 1–1 draw with Auckland All Stars U16 in their tournament opener yesterday.
