Fiji football legends honoured in Surrey ceremony 

FORMER Fijian footballers of the yesteryears were inducted into the Fiji FA Legends Club in Surrey, Canada.

Six- inductees, Sylvester Joseph, Ivor Evans, Mohammed Yusuf, Kamal Sahib, Akuila Rova and Munesh Mani were honoured for their outstanding contributions for the country between 1970-2000, an era widely regarded as one of the finest in the nation’s football history.

The period  produced some of the best footballers of the game.

While a new generation may not have witnessed them in action, their induction serves as a powerful reminder of their impact and excellence on the field.

The ceremony was attended by Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel, CEO Mohammed Yusuf, Bula FC chairman Marc McElrath, and Fiji FA vice president Edwin Chand, all of whom paid tribute to the inductees’ role in shaping Fijian football.

The evening celebrated the enduring legacy of players who helped lay the foundation for the sport’s growth in Fiji.
