Ba believes as trophy hunt gathers momentum

WITH the Extra Premier League 2026 title in the cabinet, Ba is looking ahead with a clear ambition, to win every trophy available this season.

The league triumph comes on the back of their Fiji FACT championship last month, giving the Men in Black a double-trophy haul and solidifying that the district is moving in the right direction.

The success is the result of a good set of officials, players, and those who continue to believe in the team.

A promise to deliver

Ba’s rise has been built around a promise, one President Parneel Dayal made weeks into his appointment as an interim leader.

His message was simple and bold: “We need all the trophies to fill our cabinet.”

Strategy

Ba’s resurgence can be attributed to strategic player recruitment, carefully considered coaching changes and the involvement of former players as technical staff and mentors.

The approach is not simply about winning today, but building an organization for future success.

Since taking charge, Dayal has brought a more business-like approach to Ba football.

Weekly meetings, planning and focusing on strengthening the team’s image have become part of the club’s push to build on its recent success.

To some districts, the approach may seem over the top.

But for Ba, the old sporting philosophy: if you want to be an eagle, soar high rather than be a duck and stay on the ground rings true.

The district is clearly raising the bar.

Pressure on the chasing pack

With two titles already secured, and with the Battle of the Giants and Inter-District Championship still to come, the pressure is now on the rest of the teams to step up or play catch-up.

Home Support matters

Adding to the district’s success is the unwavering support from its passionate fans.

They continue to fill the 4R Stadium, or come close to it, for every fixture.

The ‘Tasa band’ is always on hand to lift the team, while raucous supporters rally behind the team from the first whistle to the last play.

For Ba, it is no longer about participating.

It is about filling that trophy cabinet.
