BA football followed through on a promise made in 2025, delivering a season to remember and filling its trophy cabinet with silverware.
Ba president Praneel Dayal had made his intentions clear to the Men in Black faithful, declaring that his ambition for 2026 was to win every major tournament on offer.
And the side delivered in style.
Ba defeated Navua 2-0 in the prestigious Extra Supermarket International District Championship (IDC) final at Suva’s HFC Bank Stadium, completing a historic clean sweep of Fiji football’s four major titles, the League, IDC, Battle of the Giants (BOG) and Fiji FACT.
Ba’s rise to the summit of Fiji football has been built on Dayal’s leadership, the commitment of his board and a strong focus on the wellbeing of the players.
“It is the players, my board members, the fans who are behind our success. We are a team that believes,” Dayal said after the final triumph.
The Ba president admitted he was lost for words following the victory, describing the final as a tense affair but maintaining that he always had faith in his team.
On the field, Ba showed the composure and determination that have characterised its remarkable campaign.
David Supa broke the deadlock in the second half, capitalising on a Praneel Naidu free-kick.
Navua goalkeeper Tavita Ravia made the initial save but spilled the ball in the danger area, allowing Supa to pounce and put Ba ahead.
As Navua regrouped in search of an equaliser, Nabil Begg made a dangerous run past the Navua defence before being brought down inside the penalty box.
Referee pointed to the spot, and Etonia Dogalau made no mistake from the penalty kick, doubling Ba’s advantage and putting the result beyond Navua’s reach.
The final whistle sparked celebrations as Ba completed its mission, turning Dayal’s promise into reality.
For the Men in Black, the 2026 season will be remembered not simply for the trophies won, but for a team that set an ambitious target, believed in its ability and delivered when it mattered most.
