FANCA champion Canada lose opener

FANCA Fiji team: Photo Credit, USFTDEFENDING FANCA champions Canada crashed to defeat 2-1 to Fiji in their first game at the FANCA Muslim soccer tournament at Churchill Park in Lautoka, Fiji.

It was not only a defeat of the defending champions but also a setback for the fancied outfit today as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Australia.

Canada will play USA tonight and end its campaign against New Zealand tomorrow.

USA were held to a 1-1 draw against New Zealand in their second match today.

Canada had defeated Fiji 4-1 during the 2016 FANCA Muslim soccer tournament in Nadi and beat Australia 3-1 to win its first championship outside of Canada.

The FANCA Muslim soccer tournament will culminate with the crowning of the 2018 FANCA champion on Sunday.
