Fiji 7s fans ready for series

Fiji Airways 7s Aminoni NasilasilaIT’S back to the HSBC World Rugby Seven Series and as the Dubai 7s countdown begins, so is the level of excitement, which is at fever pitch.

While the fans had the off season to reminisce on the failed 2017-2018 title run, the fervent have jumped on the support wagon again for the 2018-2019 season.

The sevens buzz has one Surrey fan club hit the rafters by offering its membership the in house T.V., privilege.

Club 76 wants fans to catch the live actions from the comfort of the cushion without having to juggle places in search for an alternative for there’s no comparison.

“We have a huge Fiji 7s following”, said Sam Ali, a member of Club 76 on 76.

“Our membership area is spacious for regulars and newbies to socialize and enjoy the Dubai 7s at the weekend.

“It’s the best offer for Fiji loyalists and we encourage hearty support starting next weekend”.

Fiji 7s has included four new players for the opening two legs of the series, Dubai and Cape Town Seven, they’re Beniamino Vota, Ratu Meli Derelagi, Vilimone Botitu and Filimoni Tuimaba.

Coach Gareth Baber said he has confidence in his players that are made up of experience and debutants.

Sam said Fiji has to knuckle down from the very get of the Dubai 7s and win early points on the leaders’ board and back it up with Cape Town victory.

“Fiji needs to secure early points and maintain its consistency throughout the ten leg HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.

“Unlike last year, where Fiji had to break every bit of sweat, leading up to Paris 7s where Fiji lost to England in the Cup quarters.

“The loss thwarted Fiji winning the overall series championship on a two-point (182-180) differential against South Africa, this time around they need to kick it up few notches and not play catch-up rugby to win points”.

Sam said fans need to put away that now infamous former captain Jerry Tuiwai spill for a heart breaker turnover and England try.

“A lot has been said, if you will, and a lesson well learned following the Paris 7s loss to England. Let’s all regroup as true Fijian sevens fans and lend our moral support, lets do it”.

Fiji is drawn in Pool B with France, Scotland and Kenya.
