A themed Fiji Airways Fijian Men’s 7s team fundraiser has garnered $9000 in Surrey last night.
Petaia Usakilakeba, the coordinator for the Friday night event praised the community for raising the amount that would be distributed equally to the players and management when the team is in Vancouver for the March 9-10 weekend long Canada Sevens.
“Our Fijian community in Vancouver have proven that we can achieve unity and love by working together as one, putting our differences behind and live the way the world should be”, he said on his Facebook post.
“I’m proud to say that our community have raised more than $9,000 from the collective effort of everyone that supported this good cause for our rugby boys”.
“Last night was a very great night for most of us”.
Petaia thanked everyone for their kind support and caring heart to make last night a memorable one.
Fiji Airways Fijian Men’s 7s team is in Las Vegas for next weekend’s Las Vegas Sevens.
