SUBARMANI REDDY, the former Fiji-stars footballer has finally been cleared to play in the Fijian League.
He has signed up with Lautoka 45s and will make his return on Sunday after being away from Fijian soccer for 5 years.
The holdout stemmed after Reddy suffered serious injury during the 2014 Nations Cup final match against Ireland and filed an action lawsuit against the Nations Cup and the player that had intentionally caused the injury.
The Fijian League, who Reddy was a member of was mentioned in the case but not sued.
“My case was never against the league, let’s get that clear”, he said.
It is believed the former defensive intimidator was only allowed to play in the league on a condition that he will not take any action for injuries while playing in the league and reverting back to the 2014 Nations Cup incident claim.
“I’m happy to be back playing the sport that I’m passionate about. It had been a long 5 years”.
Reddy had to go through a reconstructive surgery to his eye-socket and jaw and years’ of therapy.
