VANCOUVER footballer Nicholas Prasad has been named in the Fiji national football team for the Tri-Nations tournament in Vanuatu.
Prasad had earlier indicted opting-out following a minor surgery to remove an ingrown toenail.
The Tri-Nations tournament is Prasad’s first tour with the national team.
“I have fully recovered from my surgery”, he told Sportsone.
“I’m feeling good and I’m healthy. I will be ready come Thursday against Vanuatu”.
Prasad said last week had been tough as he had to go through a lot tactical and technical training with the team.
“I’m making final adjustments for the International Friendlies in Vanuatu. I’m looking forward to playing.
“We go into every game with the mentality to win and against any opposition. We know both games are going to be tough especially away from home, but these games are a great test for the South Pacific Games in July”.
Prasad said, regardless of the outcome of the tournament, their aim is to win the South Pacific Games.
The Vancouverite was a marquee player for the Bula Boys team that defeated New Caledonia and Mauritius in an international friendly in April.
His stellar performance had him recalled for the Tri-Nations tournament.
Fiji plays Vanuatu and Tahiti on the tour.
