S1 mourns loss of RJ AveeGee

Radio S1 Dhamaka's AveeGee and wife Rani JiPOPULAR Radio S1 Dhamaka jockey, Avinesh Kishore Gosai (RJ AveeGee) passed away today in Sacramento, California.

The host of the weekend programs, “Sunday ke Fun Day” and “Bhulee Hui Yaadein” (Old Hits) had a huge following among the North American audience.

The first of the two hour shows, “Sunday ke Fun Day” program was full of music and fun; he was joined by his co-host and wife Rani Ji, and together they made for an interesting hour of interactive plate-form on current issues and weighed their opinions on topics of interests.

Avinesh hosted with his own unique personality.

With his choice of words, Avinesh raised the presentation bar.

Rather than simply spin a song, he’d occasionally talk over it, too, especially if the song was well-known and quickly engaged the audience.

Radio S1 Dhamaka’s programme director Jagat Singh said the S1 family is distraught at the news of Avinesh’s untimely death.

“We are deeply saddened and distraught”, he said. “Words simply can’t express the demise”.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Gosai family at this difficult time”.

Avinesh leaves behind his wife and two daughters.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
