THE Fijian Soccer League has put the 2020 football season on hold indefinitely amid growing concerns over Covid 19-pandemic.
The season was scheduled to start this month.
President Nadraj Nair said the ongoing pandemic has wreaked havoc on the worldwide sporting calendar and they were drawn to act accordingly.
“Football is the last thing on people’s mind right now”, he said.
“It’s all about staying safe and taking preventive measures against the coronavirus”.
Nair said footballers need to be mindful of the seriousness of Covid-19 and retreat from any huddle, maintain physical and social distances.
“We are all in it and we must fight it together”.
All athletics activity within Canada and around the globe, including competitions and leagues, member clubs, running groups and races, is suspended until all clear is given from governments and public health authorities.
