NADI Masters players were feted as heroes on Sunday for winning the 2021 Inter District Championship.
Nadi won in a controversial final against Ba, who led 1-0 for much of the game.
Nadi scooped much of the individual awards, with Krishna Goundar winning the best goalkeeper, Jas Singh was named best midfielder and the Most Valuable Player award went to Kartik Kumar.
Ba’s famously robust midfielders Salesh Narayan and Rigg Kumar were sent off by referee Miroslav for challenging a call.
Fans raised their utter dejection to the abandonment but praised the efforts of the first ever footballers’ organized, and strong sponsorship funded event.
