YALOVATA Group of British Columbia, Canada, has organized a meet-and-greet event with the Fiji men’s and women’s teams on Sunday.
Vitinia Fonolahi says the friends of the team will have an entry-free event.
The YGBC has been raising funds for the past year through social nights and dinners.
“We are a group who feel our men, women and management deserve our respect and as a token of appreciation we organized a meet and greet and will gift them,” said Fonolahi.
She said the group will have a Kava Barrel on Saturday before the Fijian community meets the team during a Downtown Vancouver function on Sunday.
“We have raised a substantial amount, the Saturday fundraiser is just a top-up to the already raised funds,” said Fonolahi.
Friends and fans of Team Fiji are encouraged to attend the fundraiser on Saturday and show their appreciation on Sunday for the men and women who represent the country with pride and passion.
“Dinner will served on Sunday at no cost.”
Fonolahi is urging Fijians in the USA to do the same during the HSBC SVNS LA Seven.
“Out of love, whatever helps, our men and women deserve all the more respect.”
