Singapore win, sight to behold

Singapore win, sight to behold

WE missed out on the Hong Kong Seven.

But made it count in Singapore.

The 21-12 final win against Kenya was a sight to behold at the Singapore National Stadium.

And with that coach Osea Kolinisau and the team put an end to the nation’s agonizing grief.

For fans, the win is an ecstasy.

The title win have the Fijians finished second in the overall standing at the end of six event World Sevens Series.

It also gave the side their second title in the 2024/2025 series, having won Dubai in late November.

Worked up fans celebrate

The very fans who get all worked up after the team’s disappointing losses have a reason to celebrate.

That’s how much the championship matters, who are truly most passionate about the game.

And those opinions, it is what sets the sport apart, of course, it is the only sport that men up to criticism.

“We represent Fiji, we are peoples’ team, who have all the more reasons to hold opinions,” Kolinisau said.

Our players, coaches and the organization they represent are stoic, who take the good with the bad on the chin and move on.

And this is the beauty about the sport and the top-down of the establishment.

It is what it is.

Fiji may have missed out on the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series but that doesn’t change the fact that the players didn’t give their all.

It is not just about the lapel, but the heart underneath the garb and that what matters the most.

Big moment, Mocenacagi

Captain Sevuloni Mocenacagi said it was a big moment winning the Singapore title.

“It’s great,” he said, thanking fans and supporters around the world for backing them.”

Let’s look forward to LA Sevens and the World Championship with optimism.
