SABETO FC forward Issiah Sahib has been named the best player of the 2025 Fijian Soccer League season.
Issiah becomes the sixteenth footballer to win the award and the second Sabeto footballer to join Wasim Khan and Javid Khan, Chris Singh, and Emil in winning the prestigious gong.
The 22-year-old sensation turned heads during the season, scoring 5 goals and 6 assists as Sabeto wins its third consecutive Premier League championship.
But it is Issiah’s skills that are the work of art and camaraderie sets him apart.
He proved that skill alone does not make a lasting difference; one also needs courage, conscience, and resilience.
“Winning the league in the final match of the season against a strong Eagles FC team was a game everyone kept eyes on and we delivered it in the finale.”
Issiah said football is all about teamwork, which makes it easy to play alongside teammates who play with a lot of passion and heart.
“It was a strong team effort and I owe it all to this group.”
“For me to win the MVP award is a huge honour and something I will cherish forever.
“Honestly, I’m lost for words,” said Issiah.
Sabeto obliterated Eagles FC 6-1 for the title.
