FIJI football commentators Riten Gosai and Nadeem Mohammed have broken the all-time football commentary record in the country, covering an unprecedented 50 games during the FANCA Nations World Cup 2026 tournament.
The Mai TV duo combined for 50 plus consecutive hours of live football commentary, making the two the most heard voices in a single tournament across the FANCA nations.
The FANCA Nations World Cup is a biennial event featuring football teams from Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States.
Gosai and Mohammed shared commentary duties throughout the tournament, bringing the action live to viewers on Mai TV’s subscription platform from last Monday through Sunday.
The pair also teamed up for several matches, with their distinctive styles, added energy and insight to the live coverage.
Gosai described the week-long commentary as an eventful experience, with competitive matchups and a demanding schedule.
He praised the Mai TV technical, support, creative, marketing and management teams for making the coverage possible.
“We were just voices of the live action, but there is more than what goes behind the scenes to bring live action on the screen,” said Gosai.
“We owe the records to our fantastic team and FANCA Federation for making it possible.”
Mohammed, who had previously handled four consecutive games, took on the 50-game assignment as a personal challenge.
“This one has been challenging with early start and late finishes,” he said.
“Mai TV has set a new record in terms of live streaming by presenting a total of 50 matches in just a space of 7 days.
“It is indeed a special achievement which was made possible through a very passionate and committed team of crew who were ready on stand by for each other through 50 games of football.”
Mohammed said Mai TV has certainly proven what team work, passion for the job and belief can achieve.
Their marathon commentary effort has become one of the defining features of the 2026 FANCA Nations World Cup, and the record that Mai TV, deserves.
The dynamic duo will be bringing live commentaries of the 2026 Battle of the Giants which starts Friday at Ba’s 4R Stadium.
