Ba part ways with coach Ravinesh Kumar

BA Football Association has terminated the contract of head coach Ravinesh Kumar with immediate effect, following a season in which he guided the Men in Black to all four major domestic trophies.

The association confirmed the decision in a media release signed by president Praneel Dayal, stating that its executive committee had agreed to end Kumar’s contract. No reason was provided for the termination.

“The Association thanks Ravinesh for his commitment, hard work and contribution to Ba Football during his time with the club,” Dayal said.

“We acknowledge his efforts throughout the season and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

Kumar joined Ba as director of football before taking charge of the team in May.

Under his leadership, the club won the Fiji FACT, Extra Premier League, Battle of the Giants and Inter-District Championship.

Ba ended a 16-year wait for the Fiji FACT crown, defeating Navua 3–1 on penalties after a goalless final.

The Men in Black also reclaimed the Extra Premier League title after a seven-year drought before beating Rewa 2–1 at 4R Stadium, Govind Park, to secure their 18th Battle of the Giants crown.

Ba completed its successful campaign at the Inter-District Championship, defeating Navua 2–0 at HFC Bank Stadium to claim its 26th IDC title.

Despite those results, Kumar’s time at the club has come to an end.

Dayal said Ba remained focused on maintaining its progress.

“Ba Football remains focused on building on the success achieved this season, including our historic four consecutive titles,” he said.

“We are proud of the dedication of our players, officials, supporters and everyone who continues to contribute to the success of our association.”

The association said it would announce Kumar’s replacement in due course.

No further details have been provided about the reasons behind the decision or the process for appointing a new head coach.
