Sashi Singh’s Talking Point returns with Episode 56

THE popular Sashi Singh’s Talking Point (SSTP) podcast returns on November 5, bringing its focus on Fiji politics back to audiences.

Sashimendra (Sashi) Singh, a former Fiji broadcaster and Sydney‑based lawyer will host the Australian‑produced podcast as it resumes with Episode 56.

Sashi Singh has built a reputation for hard‑hitting questions in‑depth interviews and political analysis drawing on knowledge of Fiji’s Constitution to scrutinize leaders and issues of national importance.

“There’s way too much at stake to remain quiet any longer, the rumours, the coalition dynamics, the policy changes. It’s all moving faster than ever; it is time to ask hard questions, SSTP is back”, said Sashi Singh.

The podcast gained prominence during the lead‑up to Fiji’s 2022 General Election, when Sashi Singh examined political issues and challenged politicians on policies and positions.

The podcast was distributed through Facebook and YouTube during its first season, attracted a wide audience and provided a platform for political discussion at a time when voters were seeking closer scrutiny of parties and parties’ election promises.

The return has already drawn renewed interest, in Fiji’s landscape with audiences able to follow Sashi Singh’s interviews and analysis of issues affecting the country.

The guest for Episode 56 will be former Reserve Bank of Fiji governor and Unity Party leader Savenaca Narube.

The listeners will also have the opportunity to offer suggestions live during the show as Sashi Singh resumes its examination of Fiji’s affairs.

Topics are expected to include proposed 2026 constitutional amendments, electoral systems, national debt, a referendum, and the road to upcoming elections.
