MOHAMMED Izaz isn’t a football commentator, but his good vibes could brighten anyone’s day.
The Labasa confectioner is a burst of energy, delivering short, lively snippets that send local fans into a frenzy.
Dressed head-to-toe in Labasa’s signature red, Izaz has become a regular fixture at the team’s matches, cheering with a passion that lifts everyone around him.
You don’t have to be in fluent English to call out plays – even fluent speakers get it wrong.
Izaz is just a simple guy living the moment, said Labasa supporter Jioji Nasova.
His charm brings smiles not only to everyday people in Labasa Town, but also to crowds wherever he goes.
“I may be made fun of sometimes, but that’s nothing to me. I’m a diehard Labasa supporter and a happy person living life,” Izaz said.
He believes everyone – even professional commentators – has their own style.
While he’s no broadcaster, he enjoys tossing out a few lines and soaking in the atmosphere.
“With little he has, he is ever so happy,” said Nif Jaduram.
Izaz will be in the stands once again for the final round of the Extra Battle of the Giants at Subrail Park – dressed in red, voice ready, and heart full.
