Rewa Win First Pacific Cup in a Thrilling 7-6 Shootout

REWA carried their Inter District Championship momentum across the Pacific, clinching their first-ever Pacific Cup title in New Zealand.

The IDC champions edged the Auckland All Stars 7–6 in a tense penalty shootout after a gripping final that remained scoreless through 90 minutes and extra time.

With the pressure at its peak, Rewa substitute Ivan Kumar calmly slotted home the seventh and decisive penalty after Auckland’s Yuta Konacaya missed his team’s sixth attempt, a moment that sent the Delta Tigers’ faithful into a frenzy.

Both sides delivered fast, attacking, high-intensity football throughout the contest.

Rewa goalkeeper Samuela Navasa produced what many are calling the save of the tournament in a pivotal one-on-one situation.

Navasa, typically the understudy to first-choice keeper James Dooror, was thrust into the starting role after Dooror suffered a fractured foot during the tournament.

Rising to the occasion, he delivered a performance that will long be cherished by Rewa supporters, earning him the Golden Glove award.

Rewa’s Gabriala Matanisiga was rewarded for his outstanding campaign with the Golden Ball award, further highlighting the team’s dominance.

The Delta Tigers also walked away with the $10,000 prize money, capping off a remarkable season that already includes the IDC crown and the Premier League title, achievements that reflect the exceptional form and depth of the Rewa squad throughout the year.
