ATC Sabeto FC is placing its faith in local talent as it prepares for this weekend’s Dulari Cup tournament in Surrey, British Columbia.
Coach Abdul Nasim believes confidence in his squad will be the key to a successful campaign.
“We bank on the players who play with us all year long, we are not just a team but family, we care,” said Nasim.
Nasim said despite losing 3-0 to Edmonton Rangers in last year’s grand final, he has retained the core group of players that reached the decider.
“It all comes down to believing in the players.
“We’ve kept faith with our local roster because we believe they are good enough to compete.
“The players know each other well, they’ve worked hard, and we’re confident they’ll do the job,” Nasim said.
Nasim said the team is not looking too far ahead despite being tipped as one of the contenders.
“Our focus is to take one game at a time. If we do the basics right and stay disciplined, we believe we can put ourselves in a position to reach the final again.”
ATC Sabeto FC opens its Dulari Cup campaign this weekend hoping to go one step further after last year’s runner-up finish.
The team is drawn in Pool C with Eagles FC and New Zealand Manukau.
