Fijians believe: Reddy PhotoTHE Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team is ready for a crack at claiming its fourth Hong Kong Sevens title this weekend.

The team was back to playing like Fijians again, the Hamilton and Vancouver Sevens have proved that the team can beat opponents at their own game.

And there’s no reason why Fiji can’t win the sevens premier event, one the players know too well what it means to them and the nation.

Tournament wins in Hamilton and Vancouver made people believe.

It won back what I believe sevens rugby is, linking effectiveness with beauty.

Their performance didn’t lie and against every rival the team had shown itself.

With the inclusion of the ‘power-pack’ of Isake Katonibau and the’ beast’ Semi Kunatani, coach Gareth Baber is more than confident to repeat the feat at the So Kon Po Stadium, better known as the home of the Fijians.

Katonibau and Kunatani bring in the mix the leadership and the tactical and technical lace needed to work the core.

The former is the testament of the motivation he provided during last year’s winning campaign and the latter will spark the amber-flakes he is best known for.

For captain Seremaia Tuwai has a huge responsibility riding on the ‘little big man’s’ shoulders.

Tuwai needs to follow the very path former captain Osea Kolinisau and others before him paved.

He has won it as a player but winning it as the captain and raising a loft that championship trophy on the podium will be extra special.

The quadruple championship would be a record never set before and with the lineup that Fiji has, Fijians would be least surprised the nation’s finest sevens athletes winning it all.
